Kent.ly is a place I keep track of what I've done—which is sort of everything. I write, I photograph, I make art. I love making books. In my professional life, I do brand marketing with a focus on experiential programs (but that's another story).
Why kent.ly? Kently is a nickname my friend and former colleague, Dan Milnor gave me. To be honest, it used to drive me crazy. Which is probably why he did it. But when I left Blurb to start out on my own, I needed a domain name that would encompass all the stuff that I do. So it somehow felt appropriate. Because sometimes I feel it's less what I do, than how I do it. I'm inspired by David Hockney's sense of play and Andy Warhol's sense of remove. I'm thrilled by Walker Evans's composition and Anselm Kiefer's book making. And there's the way Robert Hughes can make you love art you didn't before and Dave Hickey can turn your brain inside out. Contact me about making art. Or if you want to buy it. |
